March Chat
March is here and it’s starting to feel springy out there. I’m absolutely expecting one last cold blast…or maybe two before spring fully sets in, but I’ve been enjoying the extra daylight that is starting to creep in and I’m starting to feel ready to start my running routine again.
Along with all the sunshiney spring vibes, I’m starting to feel fresher about my art again. I think it’s a mix of the improved amount of sunshine AND allowing myself a bit of space to take a time out and refocus before diving back into things again.
Throughout February, I’ve also reintroduced long walks into my day and I have to say, these have really been an improvement. It’s a great way to dust the cobwebs out of my head and leaves me feeling lighter and more motivated. I can only recommend adding a walk to your day or some kind of activity that involves getting some fresh air. It helps if you can find a place that’s scenic or packed with nature.

Cute Characters - I’m using some of the #funwithfaces prompts I’ve missed in the past made by CharlyClements over on Instagram to get some good character design starts.
Connections
I wasn’t totally sure what to call this section, but I want to put a little more effort into making some space to share a bit of what I’ve been working on each month. I’ve dropped off from Twitter and mostly just maintain my Instagram these days and that has always been a fickle friend. Though I have been making more of an effort to be engaged there, since I’ve also been quite fickle with it over the past months too. So, I am hoping to share out a bit more behind the scenes or pieces I’ve done that might have been missed on the usual social media channels.
This was also a helpful exercise because I FINALLY uploaded these pieces from my iPad into my backup storage. This is definitely a thing I need to get better at doing because we all know we’ve heard the horror stories of lost work that wasn’t backed up.
And lastly, it’s up on Amazon so I’d like to shout about a book I worked on this past winter. I had so much fun making this one and love how all of the images turned out. I hope you’ll check it out when it is available in September!
